Chances for RD U Penn Wharton or Engineering School

Chance me for Regular Decision U Penn Wharton, U Penn SEAS, and Early Action U Chicago please?
I’m torn between applying
-Early Decision U Penn (Wharton/SEAS) along with jerome fisher M&T
-Early Action caltech, u chicago, MIT
-Restrictive Early Action Stanford

My dilemma is that Stanford is my dream school, but I feel like my chances at REA there are basically 100% for a deferral to regular decision. So I was looking into U Penn ED because it’s my 2nd choice, but the binding nature of it scares me because I have never visited, also financial aid is an issue. But in the winter I want to get in somewhere December 15th so I was wondering my chances at U Chicago and Caltech as well (I would be recruited for soccer as well as tennis at Cal Tech and have been contacted by both coaches). There’s my college application freak out. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

bumppppppppppp

anyone please?

I’ll chance back!

i’ll suggest cal tech ea and rest rd

My suggestion is not to go for early action or decision. Many top schools are moving away from this and it locks you into a university where you might not have the best financial package.

The schools you are interested in are all excellent and you have a good chance to be admitted to any one of those, in my opinion. However, don’t restrict yourself to these alone, if you are interested in Engineering, look into the other Association of Independent Technical Universities (AITU [Association of Independent Technological Universities: AITU](http://theaitu.org) ). Many of them have strong Biomedical Engineering programs and are research universities. You might find one that gives you a great financial aid package or which has some full-ride merit scholarships. Then go visit them and see whcih one fits you best!

Good Luck

@itsme123 why do you say that?

If you are interested in engineering, I wouldn’t go for Wharton ED, because it’s so incredibly finance-focused…

I mean, if Stanford is your dream school, go for it. Your stats are really good, and I definitely wouldn’t say you have a 100% of getting deferred.

Quick question though: how the hell did you take so many APs junior year??? How is that even possible o_o

“My dilemma is that Stanford is my dream school, but I feel like my chances at REA there are basically 100% for a deferral to regular decision.”

I believe Stanford rejects most REA applicants. Correct me if I am wrong.

U Chicago: You will get rejected from Chicago if you indicate your intended major as engineering. Chicago does not have engineering college.

@20more if I apply to U Chicago I’d probably go econ or finance.
@atmtangerine It wasn’t too bad. In retrospect I should’ve started studying before April. Then I would’ve gotten more 5’s but whatever.
