I’m homeschooled and will have a diploma like any other student, so my application process wasn’t any different. I applied to Rutgers New Brunswick, SUNY Cobleskill, and Delaware Valley University as an animal science major.
Stats:
SAT: 1,250 with 7/7/7 essay and taking again Dec 2nd
GPA: 3.98
EC’s: -4-H, raised & showed goats, did public speaking etc.
-Student Ambassador of an educational company that provided courses to homeschooled students in and out of the country
- Career Shadowing with a veterinarian
-Volunteered with a sheep breeder's association, provided animals for pygora goat breed dispay and assited the wool judge.
- Volunteered at a Historic Farm, helping with day camps ect
-Offered pet/farm sitting services, hoof trimming & shearing of fiber goats/sheep for money
Any thoughts on my chances?
I know my scores are low for Rutgers, espeically. I know CC is probably the best option as all of these schools are expensive, but I really wanted to give it a try, espeically because CC doesn’t have my major. I know I could transfer in with a bio major or something, but animal science is so hands on from the start that I’ve been told it’s kind of a waste to transfer.
