<p>I attended the Iowa Young Writers’ Workshop this summer and intend to pursue an English degree with a creative writing major.</p>
<p>Simple to determine – go to the Iowa admissions site to calculate your RAI score, which takes into account GPA, test scores, class rank and the number of core courses you will have taken by the end of high school. If your score is over a 290 – I believe – as an out-of-state student, you automatically get a National Scholars Award which is roughly $4500. There are additional merit-based scholarships, which you can learn about on the admissions website. I am the parent of a rising senior interested in Iowa, and we have found the Iowa admissions website very easy to navigate. </p>
