I am also openly gay and discussed my experiences with being gay in the black community in some of my supp essays and mentioned it slightly in my main essay</p>
<p>My grades took a dip last year after my mother was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer…she is a single mom so I had to take on a lot of responsibility in my home. I noted this in my additional information section. Unfortunately I am still struggling with balancing school work and dealing with my mother’s illness so my first semester grades are kind of ehhh… I am concerned as to whether my mid-year report will negatively impact my admissions chances and if so, should I do something about it? (contact the schools, ect…)</p>
