Chances for SDSU, ASU, UCD, and UCSB

<p>I know that UCD and UCSB are long shots for me, but just how unlikely or likely are they? Also, would ASU or SDSU make good back up schools for me?</p>

<p>Sophomore Schedule:
Language Arts 2 Honors
Algebra 1B
Art Fundamentals
German 2 Honors
World History
Cross Country/Track and Field</p>

Language Arts 3
Geometry
Chemistry
German 3 Honors
US History
Cross Country/Track and Field</p>

<p>My GPA for these two years is 4.0
My SAT score is 1830 (hoping to boost this a bit)
I’ve been on the varsity cross country and track team for 3 years.
I’ve been team captain of these teams 1 year.
I’ve been on school newspaper staff 1 year.
I’m an active volunteer at the local pharmacy and police department
I’m a Hispanic female.</p>

<p>Agree with SonicCare, no AP classes so quality of classes would not be comparable to students who have had AP classes and been admitted. You SAT score shows that. </p>

<p>Underrepresented Minorities (URM) are not given any admissions advantages because there is no affirmative action at the UC’s. My daughters (URM-Mexican American) in engineering at SUNY and biological sciences at UCD, did not get any special admissions perks. </p>

<p>ASU is impacted and your SAT scores and classes would not be significant enough to admit. SDSU received 62,000 applications and only accepted 7800. DD2 was accepted but chose to attend UCD. </p>

<p>DD1 4.2 gpa and AP scholar awards, etc… DD2- 4.4 gpa and AP scholar as well (I don’t remember the AP labels they received: “with distinction”, etc.)</p>

<p>I would retake the SAT; additionally, financial aid is limited, so you really need to focus on schools that you, in reality, could afford.</p>

<p>I honestly think you would be easily accepted into ASU and SDSU. You have a very good chance at UCD and UCSB as well. Get that SAT to 2000+ and I would be surprised if you didn’t get into these schools.</p>

<p>I want to know if i have a good chance of getting into asu in going to be a senior and i have a 3.3 gpa i have done soccer 3 years and going for another 1 year of tennis and 3 years of band my sat is kina low about a 940 im thinking of getting a job do you think that will help please respond</p>
