'm an Asian first generation male with a 3.6 weighted gpa. I go to a top 100 school in California, and have one of the toughest courseloads in my class. NYU is probably my number one choice right now for Stern, but I have two negative drawbacks, which is that I have 2 Ds on my transcript in Pre.Calc Honors and AP Bio. Will this drastically hurt my chances?
SAT 1- 680 CR
600-M
610-W
SAT 2- Literature-600
US History-630
I plan on taking the SAT 1 again, with hopes of a 2000 or above.

Even if you apply ED, I think Stern would still be a reach. CAS would probably be a reach too if you considered applying as an Economics and Mathematics major in CAS and transferring to Stern a year later. Retake the SAT, and make sure you take the Mathematics Level 2 SAT II which is still required I think.

Good luck!

The D’s will hurt your chances because they were most likely taken your junior year (the most important year). As Pakistan said, your SAT is low for CAS let alone Stern. Take it again and try to get above a 2100 for stern. Your SAT II’s would also have to be retaken for stern.
