Will my low GPA kill my chances?

bump…

bump 10char

Please answer…

Your GPA won’t kill your chance, as the admissions process is usually holistic. That said, it doesn’t help, and may hinder your chances slightly, especially (and unfortunately) because you are Asian.

Oh, and if your school provides rank, thats important, too. If you’re ranked first, your GPA simply says that your school is tough or something. If you’re not ranked high (as in, not in the top 10% at least), then it shows that you just didn’t perform well compared to people in the same circumstances.

Some other points of interest: your GPA has consistently gone down over the years. Thats not a good sign. On the other hand, the rigor of your courses has improved (your freshmen course load is very lacking).

EC’s: Also a bit lacking. You don’t have much other then tutoring and swimming. Any leadership positions?

Chances:

Medium Difficulty - Tufts, Rice

Reaches - UCB, Cornell, and Northwestern

My suggestion is to develop a list of colleges that are a little easier to get into.

P.S. - Chill on the bumps. No need to bump your thread 3 times in the matter of hours. Patience is a virtue.

Thx alb1995!
my safety schools are going to be ucsd and uconn
