Which school do you think I’ll end up at? :)

You should be able to get into most of the UCs, with Cal/UCLA being low reaches, and USC (especially if you apply from in-state… not really sure what state you’re in now since you went to HS in Utah last year?). If OOS though, it will be difficult for you to get into the top UCs.

Good shot at Williams/Amherst. The rest are reaches.

Write some compelling essays and raise your SAT (your aim would make you a more competitive applicant).

Good luck!

I Think, you have good chances, although many are reaches:
So what are my chances to these schools? (reach/match/safety, etc)

-Questbridge App
MIT - reach
Yale - reach
Stanford - reach
Princeton - reach
Columbia - reach
UPenn (Wharton) - reach

-Common App
Harvard - reach
Duke - low reach
Brown - reach

-UC App
UCB - low reach
UCLA - high match
UCD - match
UCSB - match

You should find a safety. Nevertheless you are an good applicant. Good Luck!

Chance Back?

USC

Thank you both. I’m bumping this thread back up.

Wow is all I can say.

Non Academic Evaluation:
It’s very impressuve that you’ve done so much and was able to balance ECs and Academics. Colleges LOVE that. For example, they want students who will do well in a class and then go play soccer. Also, everything yoo’ve done is consistent. With your resume, you can tell that you didn’t just do random things to say “hey look at me colleges! I’ve done 600 things since freshman year!” It seems as if everything you’ve done in HS has a real meaning to you, and that’s going to help you in the college process. Your awards are also great; these awards can certainly distinguish you from the average pool of applicants during admissions. Like I tell a lot of people here on CC, your competiting with 25,000 applicants that have the same numbers if not better. Things like your ECs, Recs, Essay, Awards can really help you and be a tipping factor when it comes to choosing the student who has the same stats as you but did nothing, or an applicant like you who has the same stats and did a lot during HS. So from a non-academic stand point, I think you have a huge advantage there.

Academic Evaluation:
SAT II’s are perfect. Getting over 700 on the SAT II will catch the eye of any admissions holder. As far as SAT I, I think your score is great as well. It is good that your re-taking to try to break 2200 because your applying to top schools and although 2080 is great, breaking 2200 can really help you, it can even seal the deal. Your grades are decent and are backed by 9 APs which is very impressive. Taking all of these APs is a must and it’s great that you’ve taken so much.

Overall:
Your numbers are excellent. But as I previously said, the schools you’re applying to hve kids whose numbers are the same as yours, if not higher. So it is beneficial that you have significant ECs that can help you greatly in the long run. But I honestly do have much advice but to murder the SAT the next time you take (even try to break 2300 if you can). Your a qaulified and competitive applicant which is going to help you greatly.

Schools:
-Questbridge App
MIT - Low Reach
Yale - Semi Reach
Stanford - Low Reach
Princeton - Low Reach
Columbia - Match/In ( if you can break 2200)
UPenn (Wharton) - ?
Amherst - In
Williams - In

-Common App
Harvard - Reach
Duke - Semi Reach
Brown - In/Match

-UC App
UCB - In
UCLA - Low Reach/Match
UCD - In
UCSB - Low Reach/Match
USC - In

^ thanks beatfreaks for that breakdown

bumping this thread up. any more chances? :)

Questbridge App: 2-4 acceptances
Common App: 1-2 acceptances
UC+USC: 3-5 acceptances

I don’t really think you need to add more colleges (ie safeties) b/c ur bound to end up getting accepted to at least 3 or more colleges.

rather, I would (besides retaking SATs) narrow your list of colleges down so your college essay doesn’t become too generic. I would knock 3-ish colleges out of your list.

bumping :)
