Chances for Transfer from UMich Ross to Binghamton SOM?

Hi, I’m a prospective UMich Ross student. I was admitted back to the program back in February. (I am still a high school senior)

There’s a possibility that I will transfer to Binghamton SOM after my freshman year. I wanted to know the likelihood of this.

On the Binghamton SOM Transfer website, it says that a GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred, and that it is recommended for students to have a B+ or higher in micro and macroeconomics, and statistics and calculus by the time of application.

Are these preferred prerequisite grades for transfer affected by the rigor of a specific school, such as UMich Ross, as I would assume that the classes for Ross for these subjects are more difficult and thus will end up in a lower grade and GPA than another prospective transfer student from say a community college or so.

My question is would it be easier for me to transfer into SOM considering the school and program that I am transferring from?

Thanks!

Just wondering, but why are you trying to transfer from Ross to Binghamton? UMich Ross is one of the best undergrad business schools and a target school.

To answer your question, I think the transfer admissions will recognize the rigor of Umich compared to a other schools. But coming from Umich won’t excuse a low GPA below 3.0. If you have a decent GPA, I think you wil definitely get into Bing.
