I’m applying to all UCs and Cal Poly SLO. What are my chances for these colleges with these grades and test scores?
Freshman 1st semester: 2.8
Freshman 2nd semester: 3.4
Sophomore 1st sem: 3.5 UW, 3.66 W
Sophomore 2nd sem: 3.5 UW, 3.66 W
Junior 1st sem: 4 UW, 4.5 W
Junior 2nd sem: 4 UW, 4.5. W
Overall UC GPA: 4.08
SAT: 1420 (680 English, 740 math)
Subject tests: 800 Math 2, 680 bio e
I’m also not poor, an athlete, or underrepresented minority (I’m actually Asian so that sucks). Also, does this count as a rising gpa and do UCs care about rising gpas?
Intended major? EC’s?
Race/Ethnicity is not considered in Cal States or UC admissions, so being Asian will not hinder you chances.
Upward grade trends will help your chances. SLO uses 9-11th grades so what is your CP GPA?
Your have a solid SAT score and UC GPA so your chances will be dependent upon your intended major. The more competitive the major, the higher the stats will be needed.
Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 and not major specific:
UCB: 14%
UCLA: 14%
UCSD: 44%
UCSB: 54%
UCD: 58%
UCI: 65%
UCSC: 85%
UCR: 94%
UCM: 96%
you are a competitive applicant for most of the UCs. LA, B and SD could go either way, the others are likely to accept you. CP SLO, since they consider freshman grades, probably not but, it really depends on your major.
good luck
