Feedback for ED and RD chances?

No ED offered at UC Berkeley.

well than just RD?

You seem to have the stats for Berkeley. Work hard on writing good essays.

Can you afford to attend?

No
not at all I’m broke

Oh god I can see you at BMUN =.= You should focus on pulling your ranking and GPA up. UCs use 10-12 grades, so if you did badly freshman year to get the 3.85, I wouldn’t worry as much, but if it’s this year I’d work harder. Why are applying undeclared btw? You seem to have a clear interest in poly sci. Applying with a declared major helps for state schools as they prefer to know who they’re letting in.

It is important to calculate your grades using the UC GPA scale. UCs only consider weighted GPAs as determined by them. The formula is simple though. They only look at 10 and 11 grades (they will look at 12 after you are admitted, but there is no mid year report). All A = 4, B = 3, etc (A+, A, A- are all the same). Because you are out of states, only AP and IB classes will be weighted one more point (A=5, B=4). You can only have a maximum of 8 weighted semesters though. D’s cannot be weighted and retaking classe cannot erase a previous grade.

During my 11th grade, I took A.P. Biology which is 1.5 credits. When they calculate the UC G.P.A do they use A.P. Biology as 1.5 credits or as 1 credit because I took it for 2 semesters?

Berkeley L&S does not admit by major, and all entering frosh in L&S enter as undeclared.

Berkeley Engineering does admit by major, so choosing a more popular major relative to its capacity means having to pass a higher admissions bar.
