Chances for UCLA Class of 2017?

<p>UCLA is my absolute dream school, but with out-of-state tuition and such I applied just for kicks as a reach, just to see if anything good came of it.</p>

<p>Major: Economics/Poly Sci
SAT: 2030 (2050 Superscore)
ACT: 31
GPA: 3.85 UW
EC’s: Musical Theatre(4 yrs), Swim Team (3 yrs), NHS, Theatre Historian Junior Year, Theatre President Senior Year, Spanish and Chinese Clubs, 100+ hours of community service with my church and other school events, and three years of work experience.
Essays: I thought my essays were phenomenal, put a lot of time and effort into them, and made sure to highlight how UCLA is a dream school of mine.</p>

<p>Fair shot–your academic record fits the bill of what UCLA usually accepts, and your consistent record of extracurriculars is good.</p>

<p>I hate to say this, but you probably should not have gushed about UCLA in your essays, because admission officers don’t like to see that; they want to see who you are. However, as I just said, your application seems strong enough for a fair shot, and I don’t think your essay gaffe should hurt too much…</p>
