Thanks!

bump…

you should be in

this wait is killllllling me!!!

What are the lowest SAT’s you have ever seen accepted at UCLA? Just curious…if anyone can comment.

I got in with an 1890

My former roommate got 1800. He was rank 2 in his class. He came from a ghetto HS in OC.

I got 1900 but raised my SAT to 2170 after taking it 5 times. lolz. I would have taken it a 6th time if I had been given the opportunity. My GPA wasn’t that great. I only had 8 APs, 1 honor, and my weighted GPA was only around 4.0 . I remember that I got half As and half Bs all junior year. I was ranked only in the top 30% of my class. My essay was utterly terrible. I had 0 extra-curriculars (probably why I was rejected from Berkeley).

my friends older brother got in with around a 1600 sat. must have had incredible essays

one of my floormates got in with a 1500. and my roommate got a 1600.
let me be honest here, the people who get in with these kinds of stats are ■■■■■■■ who make up the majority of the people who get weeded out of college by the end of their first year. the reason they even get in the first place is probably because they’re the “top” students from their retardedly stupid high schools. for example, my roommate thinks that the atlantic ocean is on the west coast and does not know how to divide 10 / 6/2. he thinks 10 / 6/2 = 10/6 /2. and this guy was his high school valedictorian. i mean, C’MON, MAN.

it’s not a matter of getting in, because any ■■■■■■ can get in if he lives in the right area.

ure in…

Do you think 80-90 hours of community service would be sufficient? Most of those hours are from being a teacher aid for an elementary school church class on Sundays. I’ve heard (I think from a UCLA rep or someone) that UCLA doesn’t necessarily like it as much if you get a a small amount of hours from lots of random places over showing some commitment (not my wording lol) to a certain source of hours

80-90 hours seems fairly low to me, unless that is per year. I have 416 for one commitment and 1064 for another. Plus other miscellaneous 25-40 per year small things. Now the large hours are over a four year period, so if you break it down by year, then it would be 104 for one commitment, 266 for the other, then about four little ones at 25-40 per year.

But I have never asked anyone else how many hours they put in, so I may be way off base. Also, remember that the community service/school service is only one part of the equation. If you have a great GPA and SAT/ACT’s along with those hours, you should be fine. Some people only have 10 hours, and I think those are the ones that aren’t going to cut it.

You should be fine if your scores are good.

is Cal harder to get in than La? Just wondering cause i got a supp questionaire for cal but not for la

@heytherek: UCLA had a slightly lower acceptance rate last year than Berkeley. I’d say they’re both pretty hard to get into. There were many people from my school who got accepted in one but not the other.
