Chance me for these please! (not complete list)

Harvard (double legacy)
Brown
Dartmouth
UCB
UCLA
UCSD
Macalester

Are you an in-stater or out-of-stater (for California)? If in-state, I’d say:

Berkeley/UCLA: match
UCSD: safety

If applying as an OOS, then you’d have a good shot at all of them (including the privates), though it’s considerably more difficult for OOSers.

I’m in in-state for tuition, out of state for admission. It’s a weird thing having to do with me going to boarding school in California.

Harvard: in
Brown: probably in
Dartmouth: good chance
UCB/LA: match
SD/Macalester: Safety

Just to edit my double legacy status at Harvard, my parents only give $100 a year. Not dropping a couple million here and there like some with lots of dinero :stuck_out_tongue: You still think I’m in there?

Harvard: Who knows. Nobody does. Not even the admissions guy that decides.
Brown: Nice chance.
Dartmouth: Not bad.
UCB/LA: Should be admitted to one or the other.

The rest are safeties.

In at all–

Normally Harvard would be difficult–but considering your UW GPA is 3.96, SAT I is 2320, SAT IIs add up to 2300, you have a double legacy and you live in Alaska, I don’t see a problem.

The rest are all Safeties to Safe Matches, except Dartmouth and Brown, which are Matches.

Best of success.

P.S. So do you plan to major in Biology, Spanish, or something else?–Pre-law history major is my guess.

Well my UW GPA is using my school system of an A+ = 4.33. I don’t know what system is used here at CC.

Thanks for the comments Calcruzer, especially since you are being much more generous than I expected. I really thought that you had to have some kind of amazing EC passion to even be considered for Harvard.

I don’t have a specific major in mind, but history is definitely a possibility. And funny you mention pre-law, since both my parents are lawyers.

The things that really scare me are 1. I did almost nothing freshmen year and 2. I have no leadership except President of the GSA, however active that club may be at my school.

Oh and I don’t know if makes much of a difference, but I’m gay and will probably write my essay about breaking down a lot of barriers at my somewhat conservative school.

My guess:

Harvard (double legacy): 65% Chance
Brown: 65% Chance
Dartmouth: 65% chance
UCB: In
UCLA: In
UCSD: In
Macalester: In

Good luck! If you like Dartmouth and Brown perhaps consider adding Stanford, Amherst, or Duke just to hedge the bet.

Thanks!

What about my chances at Amherst?
