Hello!
I have a 27 ACT with an essay of 11
4.1 weighted GPA

I’m involved in the following activities:
- National Honor Society 3 year
- ASB 4 years
- Journalism for 3 years (Editor and Chief for the Online Newspaper)
- Founder and CEO of my own non-profit that promotes empowerment of women–3 years
- Scouting (I am the scout master this year)–10 years
- Admissions Internship at my school-2 years
- California Scholarship Federation Tutor and Council Member–3 years
- School Ambassador–3 years
- Church Youth Group Treasurer-6 years
- Church Cultural Committee member–4 years
- Technology company marketing intern–4 years

I feel like I have pretty good ECs and I’m taking some challenging courses about 2AP/honors courses each year. This year I am taking 3 AP courses at school and one independently. I am planning on majoring in Economics.

Realistically, what are my chances for admission to USC specifically?

also what about NYU? Boston University? Babson? Duke? Santa Clara University? Northwester? Vanderbilt? University of Notre Dame? Tulane? thank you

I think you can rule Vanderbilt out immediately, because your ACT score is well below their range, and they are legendarily fixated on test results (unless you are being recruited for a varsity sport). I have to say that Duke is also pretty unlikely. Your other qualifications are solid, so why not include some test-optional schools? Most of the colleges are reaches for you, with several out-of-reach. Since you’ve included Babson on the list, are you looking specifically at business programs? If so, how are your Math scores? You might have a shot at NYU, but Stern is unlikely with a 27 ACT. The same probably goes for BU, although they are marginally less selective than NYU. I can’t speak for Santa Clara. Tulane is a reach with a 27, also, although not completely impossible. Will you take the SAT and re-take the ACT this fall? It’s unlikely that you would improve your scores enough to bring Duke or Vanderbilt into reach, but you might improve your chances elsewhere with a 29/1900+.

okay thank you for the feedback what about USC? and I’m not apply to Stern just regular NYU. I’m not applying to to business programs but as an economics major at some and a communications major at others. I’m currently working on my SAT and I’m taking that in October hopefully it will be a higher score than my act
