I plan to major in Animation / Digital Arts

Same question for CMU BXA and RISD?

Low reach…What is BXA?

BXA is CMU’s Intercollege Degree Program, e.g., for animation you can apply to both College of Fine Arts and the School of Computer Science in pursuit of digital animation major. Thanks for the reply.

Did you have to send in a portfolio? That can be a deciding factor also.

I did submit a portfolio to all.

usc superscores sat, so will your less than stellar score be higher? Also they love involvement so youre good on that. idk what your major is, but I know their cinematic arts is super competitive. idk if that’s you, Im not an arts person.
I would say high match/low reach

your essays need to be good, and not becuase you say theyre good. if a professional likes them, you can, with more confidence, be more sure of your chances.

Is anyone else considering the Animation programs at any of these 3 schools?

Animation majors: any thoughts?

Hello fellow Ches-Co’er,
I have a few kids from my school trying to get into USC’s animation/film program. I know that they make movies and enter them into festivals and normally do pretty well. I have no idea what there SAT score is, but I can imagine that an impressive portfolio can make up for an average SAT score.
