chances for uva?

<p>Out of State applicant. 4.2 wtd GPA, 3 APs junior year, will take 5 in senior year.
1440/1600 SAT (700 eng, 740 m) 2120 total (680 writing). Will take 2 subject SATs in June, AP exams not until May.</p>

JV rugby as Freshman, Sophomore
Invited to join Varsity Rugby in National Championship in Sophomore year
Varsity rugby Junior, and again when senior next year, Nationally ranked team (#4 in USA)</p>

<p>I think being out-of-state hurts me, but nothing I can do about that. Any suggestions to increase chances?</p>

<p>the fact that you’re out of state will hurt you unfortunately, as you’ve pointed out. but besides that, I think your GPA is pretty solid and it looks like you’re taking hard classes. You don’t have too many EC’s but your rugby stats are impressive so definitely play up on that unique quality. Maybe get a club leadership position to help though. Also your SAT is good, but if you want to make your chances better, being out of state and all, perhaps get your writing score above 700.</p>
