chances for va/md schools

<p>Hi everyone, i was wondering what my chances would be at these schools:

  1. George Mason University
  2. University of Maryland
  3. Virginia Commonwealth University
  4. Virginia Tech
  5. William and Mary
  6. George Washington University
    most are reach schools other than mason and vcu.</p>

<p>here is my info:</p>

<p>Male/Middle Eastern
GPA: 3.46
Rank: 104/350 (super competitive school)
SAT:
math: 670
verbal: 570
english: 540
ACT: 31 composite</p>

<p>Classes: grades started out rough fresh/soph year, but improved in junior/senior year</p>

<p>AP’s:
US History -11
World History -10
Biology -11
Psychology -11
Calculus AB -11
Calculus BC -12
Government -12
Computer Science A -12
Physics -12</p>

<p>regret taking so many as i only got a 5 on calc so far. (3’s on bio and psych and 2’s on the histories)</p>

<p>Volunteered at the hospital this summer. volunteered at the library a couple summers ago.</p>

<p>Right now i feel as if i have little/no chance for most of the schools other than mason and vcu, am i right, or do i have more of a chance for the other schools or less of a chance for mason and vcu??
any responses will be apprecieated!</p>

<p>Only school I dont think you have a chance at is W&M.</p>

<p>W&M is definite reach. All others look pretty good.</p>

<p>University of Maryland, William and Mary, and George Washington are reaches (line in northern va). William and Mary is a high reach, you have a shot at both GW and U of Maryland.</p>

<p>I don’t think you could get into W&M. In at Mason and VCU. Don’t know about the others. Tech, probably.</p>

<p>I can only speak for the Virginia schools. I don’t feel that you would be accepted to William and Mary. Your GPA and SAT scores are too low. Virginia Tech is a maybe, possibly a waitlisted status. VCU and George Mason…a resounding YES. You will have an easy acceptance to both of those schools. Good Luck!</p>

<p>I just transferred from George Mason to W&M. Mason sounds like a perfect fit. Large middle-eastern community there. Also, you’re in at VCU. Those two are obvious. Tech and UMD are reaches, better shot at Tech (hard to call). GWU is a farther reach that those two but still attainable. W&M, unless there you have passion or a hook I can’t see it. I mean if you really want it then apply anyway, I just can’t see it.</p>
