<p>sat I:
first one - 730 verbal, 760 math, 690 writing = 2180
second one - 750 verbal, 740 math, 680 writing = 2170</p>

<p>sat II (highest scores):
math - 760
physics - 760
us history - 710</p>

<p>APs:
english - 4
us history - 4
calculus ab - 5
physics b - 4</p>

<p>academics:
4.5 weighted gpa
3.92 unweighted gpa
ranked within 5% of class (im about 3%)</p>

<p>extra curriculars:
varsity hurdler in track and field (4 yrs.)
varsity cross country (2 yrs)
orchestra 2nd chair cellist in competitive orchestra, assistant principal is my title
active NHS member
active Key club member</p>

<p>other:
im an american born s. korean, english is the only language i know</p>

<p>the colleges im concerned about are cornell and carnegie mellon. i think yale, brown, and dartmouth are far reaches, and i dont really want to go to any uc’s anyways. thanks for your input.</p>

<p>carnegie mellon (H&SS college) - safe match. H&SS is way easier to get into
than most of CMU.</p>

<p>Writing score will hurt at all the Ivies. Yale is probably out of reach unless you have a hook.</p>

<p>From Yale’s website, I don’t see anywhere that they ignor the Writing part of the new SAT, particularly since they require the ACT Writing if you go that route.

Yale requires submission of the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I) and any combination of three SAT II Subject Tests, or the American College Test (ACT). Note that Yale no longer accepts the “old” SAT I and, if you will take the ACT, understand that Yale is one of the schools that require the ACT Writing Test wherever that option is available. </p>

<p>SAT Scores</p>

<p>If you will be submitting the SAT I and SAT II Subject Tests for Regular Decision, you should plan on completing your testing no later than the January 2007 test date and preferably by December 2006. Tests taken in March or April 2007 will not be received in time for consideration. Only scores reported directly to Yale by the College Board are considered crucial. If you have not already requested that the College Board forward all previous test results, please do so immediately. Be sure to include Yale’s ceeb Code (No. 3987) on all future test registrations. Your application will be considered incomplete if we do not receive the required test scores. November is the last month in which SAT I or SAT II Subject Tests may be taken for Single-Choice Early Action consideration. Although we cannot guarantee that scores will arrive before the Admissions Committee convenes, past experience suggests that November scores will arrive in time. January is the last month in which SAT I or SAT II Subject Tests may be taken for consideration under Regular Decision.
