What kind of a chance do I have at Yale for a Chemistry or Mathematics major?

Yale’s gonna be a reach, but if you apply SCEA then I think you’ll have a decent shot as long as you get good recommendation letters and write good essays.

Chance me for Brown? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/1788532-should-i-even-apply.html

First off, Yale does not recruit by major or intended major. All students apply to the college as liberal arts majors and choose a major during their sophomore year.

Secondly, you’re new here, so possibly you haven’t seen this thread. It’s written by an MIT Admissions Director about chance threads, but holds true for Yale, as well: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/massachusetts-institute-technology/939227-reminder-no-one-not-even-me-can-give-you-an-accurate-chance-at-mit-p1.html.

You sound like a wonderful candidate, as are the vast majority of students who will ultimately be rejected. With more academically qualified applicants than they have room for in their freshman class, Yale uses a student’s essays, teacher recommendations, guidance counselor reports and interview reports to help them select individual’s who will make a difference on their campus. As you haven’t posted those items – nor can you – no one here can say what your chances are. You just have t send your applications out into the universe and hope for the best. Good luck to you!
