Chances..going into my senior year

GPA: 3.8982
Mich GPA: 4.0

Rank: 8 out of 200
ACT: 27

In-state
Varsity Cross Country
Varsity Track
Secretary of Interact
Member of academic games (math club, won states in world card)

Work Load Includes/Will include: 4 years of spanish, Ap Gov, Chemistry, Biology, Sociology, physics, advanced biology classes like that.

I take pretty much the hardest classes you can take at my school, but by the time I graduate I’ll only taken Honors pre-calc. Will not taking apcalc be a problem?

Also, by the time I graduate I will only have taken 2 AP’s (Ap Gov & English)

NHS member too…

you’re a match. how many ap’s does your school offer? is your school competitive.

Apply early!!!

Match. Your courseload is not that difficult and your ACT is on the lower side, but you are in-state, your class rank is good and your GPA is very solid.

don’t worry about apcalc…don’t take it if its going to make your gpa drop…some people are just not math people, no big deal. but yes, you are a match. The only thing I’d suggest improving on is your ACT by a couple points.

You sound like a match; however, you should consider retaking the ACT in the fall.

A higher ACT score will solidify your chances of gaining admission.

Good luck.

Thanks for your input guys!

Btw, I have an asian friend who got in with a 25act and a 3.7

Yeah , 25 is pushing it. He/She’ll need to up that ACT is score.

I agree with jxu.

No my friend applied with a 25 and got in with that score…i dont how though. Maybe she applied for uvm dearborn but she said she didnt…

an asian got a 25? if i was a UM adcom, I’d laugh. just kidding; sorry, I’m bored at work.

Is she currently attending the University?

You are going to be on the cusp with such a low ACT. So, I predict that the adcom will go to your teacher recs/essays to make their decision. If your instructors can say really strong comments regarding your character, work ethic, etc. and you convey your passions and goals in your essays, you will have a good chance of getting admitted.
