Thanks. I’m a junior in highschool and really need to get serious about college. I’m just wondering if I’m on the right track.

u are not on the right track. Retake the act and u can get into much better schools than alabama

You’re in. With your stats you could look at more selective schools - if you want to stay in the south, some that may be good are Agnes Scott, Emory, Tulane, and UM

Yeah, you’ll get accepted. Your GPA is on target, as well as your ACT. It’s middle of the road, but I’m pretty sure that will get you in.

And shimmer, Emory is a very selective college, and I don’t think her scores would necessarily land her an admit.

Okay bamabelle13: Since you are an Alabama resident, you probably know that the University of Alabama is a great university. Come on over to the UA board to hear about all the great opportunities!! You will be very welcome there.

Now onto those ACT scores -you need to get those scores up, because bringing an ACT 30+ to the game will get you four years of free tuition… Yes FREE. See below- Presidential Scholarship. Aim for the big one, you have time to study and retake the test. Also sign up for the SAT as well. You have the GPA… you just need the test scores to qualify. Spend your next months studying for a very large payoff. This scholarship info is current as of now, my advice is to always aim for a higher test score in case qualifications change.

Thank you SO MUCH for the info and the helpful links!

I’m going to retake the ACT in December, so (fingers crossed) I can make at least a 27! I’ve got a tutor helping me study up for the ACT this time so I think I can definitely improve my score. Also, I’m planning on taking the SAT soon. I have older cousins who go to UA and really love it, so I’m really excited about hopefully getting in to UA!

Glad that you will be working on your test scores, take both the ACT and SAT tests as often as possible. The test fees are worth it to get that scholarship.
