been playing violin for 11 years hopefully will get into All-State this year

and another thing, do colleges like if i went from Math 9 to Pre-Calc Honors in 1 year?

Don’t over stress yourself with too many AP courses. This might sound a little cliche but it’s quality not quantity meaning it’s how you do on the AP tests trust me AP chemisty is a BIOTCH!I’m getting ready for the exam in may and it’s kicking my a**.

Oh yeah I forgot to add where you from because if it’s florida, california, texas,or NY HAVE FUN because these are most competetive in the nation in all state bands.Colleges are looking for concistancy in band other activities.

i know All state in NY is freakin crzy hard to get into
i’ve been practicing my one piece for 1/2 and year
on top of that violin is like one of the most competitive instruments to get into
All-State kind of requires a 100 on NYSSMA too

I’m getting ready for the exam in may and it’s kicking my a**.

I got the PR book and i revised for the entire exam in 2 days. LOL. i did good on the practice exams.

florida, california, texas,or NY HAVE FUN because these are most competetive in the nation in all state bands

YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN!! lol

kimchi89: what piece are you playing?

Howd u take so many courses in 11th grade?

block schdule?

gah, SAT definetly needs to be raised. I would say 2200+ on your SATs would be okay for some top 15 colleges.

dont listen to rahul. he’s a ■■■■■.

Hey, cyptic_fate, I am actually a human and my name is Rahul Kumar Ghosh.

But yeah, he has a chance at JHU, Brown, Cornell definetl, not sure about ivies, to early to tell. He should consider taking AP ENglish in 11th grade. And AP Literatuer, Ap Physics, Calculus BC, AP PHysics B in Senior.

All i know is that you are 14 year old kid who thinks he’s a overachiever and wants to go to top colleges by skipping high school. I am ****ed that you actually wasted time of many CCers.

Like many CCers said, get a life and try getting some friends.

I do have a life, and I do have friends. Stop flaming me.

you think you are an overachiever - trying to go to top schools at 14! And skip high school? trust me kid, i have better stats than you and i still wouldnt skip high school at such a young age. i dont think you will even be accepted. probably headed south is right, your rich neuroscientists parents bought you a fake hs diploma. well whatever, i just dont appreciate you wasting time of many CCers. Being a nerd is one thing, but you seem to surpass the definition of “nerd.”

Well, fake hs diploma used to enroll in a city college can be a crime for providing false data. There was never any fake hs diploma. Also, do colleges really care on how students complete high school, especially for junior transfers? Absolutely not, in fact, UCB and UCLA don’t review or check for high school graduation or high school records of any sort. I already talked to a Caltech admissions officer, and they are accepting my form of high school graduation and are willing to offer me transfer admissions review for Fall 06.

cryptic_fate, calm down. Rahulkgosh was just trying to help out the original poster. I don’t think there’s any need for this to degenerate into a needless flame war; it’s not even pertinent to the post.

Can you guys just call a truce? His trying to go to school at fourteen is not going to inconvenience you at all. If you are trying to help him, I don’t think this kind of rudenss is very helpful.

kimchi89, I’m not really skilled in evaluating people’s chances, so I don’t really know what to say except that you seem like a good candidate. There are also a lot of non-Ivy schools that are really good (and whether or not a school is a “good” school depends a lot on the person–Harvard could be bad for someone and Sarah Lawrence could be good for someone), so don’t limit yourself to those in the Ivy League!

well, i do think i went too far. Sorry rahul, and good luck!

Cryptic…I don’t think you should be sorry. The point of a forum is to express your opinions.
