Chances? New SAT Scores

So, my SAT scores were late, but it was well worth the wait. ^^

-Ethnicity: Asian
-Sex: Male
-Country: Canada
-School Type: Private (a really good one that consistently sends many students to Ivies)

Ok, so international isn’t exactly a bonus, and I realize asianness is definitely a strike against me.

SAT I:
First time (November):
-800 M
-800 CR
-680 W

Second time (May):
-800 M
-800 CR
-780 W

I am ecstatic about these new scores. My writing jumped 100 points!

SAT II:
-Math II: 800
-Phys: to be done in two weeks (likely 800)
-French: to be done (likely 750-800)

EC’s (weaker than some):
-Cross-Country (gr 11-12)
-U16 Rugby (gr 9-10, bleh)
-“Varsity” Chess Team (my passion, 10 hours a week easily XD)
-Programming Competition (another passion, ranked 8 in a provincial level contest, but not much else. also have a website for my creations)
-tutoring inner-city under-privileged children (4 years dedication)
-peer tutoring (gr 11-12)
-gonna be a lifeguard…
-getting a job this summer…

Awards:
-lots of miscellaneous math contest awards, mostly Canadian (but also includes multiple AMC awards. also got a 5 on the most recent AIME, is that good?)
-math subject prize (just means top math student in the grade in my school; won every year so far)
-computers subject prize (gr 10)
-french subject prize (gr 9)

Basically, I have mediocre/decent EC’s, great SAT scores, pretty good grades. I like what I do, now I can just hope for the best. Essay can be pretty good, not amazing by any means, but rec’s will be quite good.

Chances for:
-Princeton
-MIT
-Stanford
-maybe Carnegie-Mellon?
(Yes I’m aiming high, but I have Canadian safeties =P)

Safeties are University of Waterloo and University of Toronto. Both are Canadian universities, and our system works so that I have a 99% of getting into them, which makes them good safeties.

why do you even bother asking such a stupid question! Just a chance to show off your scores!! Come on, ur obviously intelligent enough to work that one out for yourself.

ur average mark??? and your courseload?? i am also from canada, so maybe i could give you some advice~

hmmm, amagyar, yes I am perhaps guilty of being overly proud of my scores. truthfully though, does that mean I am all set? do I leave everything else up to the crapshoot?

forgot about my marks XDD
we do the IB at our school… my university advisor says I’m taking the hardest courseload, but I have no clue how the IB marks convert to gpa. I have five 6s and one 7 (but after exams, I should have two more 7s).

also forgot some EC’s…

-played piano for many years. Grade 9 RCM (bleh, boring and not impressive at all, but gotta count for something right?)
-1st clarinet in wind ensemble (possibly principal)

your stats are surprisingly similar to mine.~~but your EC s a bit better than mine.i would say there is nothing much you can do right now, except for writting an excellent essay and getting good recommendations. since it seems that you are going for computer science.carnegie mellon should be a in , but they don’t offer financial aid to international students. other schools, i think, slim chances.

I don’t need financial aid I believe.

yeah, I hope to write a good essay, and I know I can get good recs.

man, my first post was terrible, forgot everything XD

missed math contests, my biggest strength (although perhaps not impressive in context of the schools I’m applying to)

-qualified for AIME (and distinction on the AMC’s) 3 years in a row, most recent AIME score was 5
-school winner + distinction on countless Canadian math contests (Pascal, Fermat, Hypatia, Galois, COMC, Cayley, Euclid etc.)
