What are my chances if:
a) I get an MBA or Law degree from McGill or UBC?
b) If I get an MBA or Law degree from a top notch US school?

In scenario a: basically impossible unless you get a job in the U.S. with a sponsoring employer, apply successfully for the H1-B (which is a lottery), and stick around long enough to become eligible for permanent residency.

Same goes for scenario b with the exception that you will have a work permit on your student visa and thus will be able to prove yourself to employers who can sponsor a H1-B visa application.

Canadians can’t apply for the DV lottery, which is another route through which people get visas.

Your best bet would be to marry a U.S. citizen…

If you’ve got money, another option is investment-based immigration.
