I noticed how Princeton recommends international applicants do their SAT exams in December albeit does not state doing it in January is prohibited and one can still apply for January tests outside the US anyway. Unforeseen circumstances have prevented me from sitting mine in December thus I’m left with 23rd of January. So I am wondering if anyone here knows roughly what are the chances of an international student getting into Princeton if they do the January SAT (then forwarded to Princeton in early February) assuming the application is strong… which I’m quite confident on, especially the topic chosen for my essay. I presume an international January sitter getting into Princeton isn’t some unheard of anomaly.
I get it, you want to know as much as you can about how likely you are to get in. I want to know about mine too. But relax. It’s a recommendation. Frankly if you’re shooting for such competitive colleges you probably should have taken the SAT far before the December one, either for early action or to allow you to retake if needed. But there’s nothing you can do now.
There are so few people in that situation that no useful data exists. It’s not required, it’s recommended. If you’re passionate about Princeton, and reflect that in your application, you’ve got just as slim a chance as the rest of us.
Princeton is hoping for the very best students and if you fall into that category in their estimation, late scores will not prevent an offer of admission. Self report them to the university when you receive them and they will use the official scores to confirm what you self report.
Speaking from personal experience, I wouldn’t be too worried about it. I’m an international student, and during Princeton’s last application cycle, I took my last SAT in January 2015 (I sat for the Physics SAT II test). My scores were rush delivered to Princeton after the January 1 Regular Decision deadline. I was accepted and am currently a Class of 2019 freshman at the university. Just be sure to send in your scores as soon as possible!
@ptonbse muuuuah thanks
