chances of getting accepted into the university of michigan?

I am a senior in high school and I live in Ohio.

This year I am taking:
Honors Chemistry
College Comp 1 & 2
Spanish 4
American Government
(my school does not offer AP courses)

GPA:3.8 (unweighted)

ACT Composite: 25
ACT Math: 25
ACT English: 30

I am 20th in my class of 142.

I have/am participating in soccer, basketball, track, national honors society, foreign language club, science club, etc.

could someone please tell me what my chances are for getting accepted into the university of michigan?

The mid 50th percentile of admitted students had a 27-31 ACT Composite, so I would say your chances are not great.

If you are a URM, recruited athlete, or legacy, then your chances increase.

My grandfather went to the university of michigan on a basketball scholarship.

My grandmother, two uncles, and aunt all graduate from the university of michigan, too.

That same aunt is a professor at the university.

I also have one cousin who is currently attending.

Legacy status is normally defined as parents who attended. But if there is a place on the application to list the other relatives, it may have some sway.

But a better ACT would be a much more effective boost to your application.

What kind of scores did your cousin have for admission?

There was an area on the application that asked if any grandparents had attended, so I was able to list them.

My cousin is a senior or junior this year. I know he scored a composite score of 26. I'm sure he had a GPA between 3.7-3.9 also.
