chances of getting accepted

University of Michigan is my top choice. I applied early action,I have a 2000 on my SAT’s, my unweighted GPA is a 3.52 and weighted is a 5.6. I took 5 AP classes (i’m a senior in high school, I took 3 last year and am currently in 2). I’m also currently participating in an internship at Johns Hopkins University within my major of neuroscience. I interviewed with a very important biologist at UofM who wrote me a letter of recommendation to the head of admissions. I’m very nervous about getting in because it’s my dream school. Does anyone have any idea of my chances?? Thanks so much!

Your SAT is a bit low (below the 25th percentile) while your GPA is also much lower than the admission average. Are you from in state or OOS?

out of state. Maryland

Although your internship and interview will be points in your favor, Michigan is still probably a reach for you, given your GPA and SAT score. That’s not to say you won’t get in, but I would not bank on it.

^^ Absolutely agree.

great. Thank you.

It depends on your school of course. At some schools, a 3.5 GPA is excellent, while at others, it is good but not great. Only you know. If your school has naviance, you can check how students who applied with your stats have done the last 2-3 years. Recommendations do not carry much weight. Without knowing more about your school, I would say Michigan is a reach.
