Chances of getting as homeschooled students & social security number questions??

Me & two friends applied to UCF last week. I applied as a transfer & my other friends Sam & Jess applied as freshmen because they contacted the admissions office & they told them to just apply anyway even though they missed the freshman deadline (the transfer deadline is July 1st) but they explained how they took some college courses & thought they would receive credit for them, but instead they didnt because the courses were just personal enrichment online courses from a community college offering no credit for the courses. Sam explained this with a personal statement she was told that she could attach with her info so they could “chance” her. Her problem is she went to regular high school for 2 years & for the other 2 yrs she was homeschooled. When she applied she only sent her homeschool transcript in because she was still homeschooled while she went to regular school the first 2 yrs & she covered the same curriculum & did the same work, but she just made better grades in homeschool so technically she did all 4 years homeschooled but she did do regular school for 2 yrs. Now she is worried that she will get in trouble since she didnt include any info about the other school & that 2 yrs. My other other friend Jessica (they dont mind me saying their names on here they said I could) only went to regular high school for 6 months & she didnt include that info either just her homeschool stuff while I went to homeschool all 4 yrs so all I had to include was my homeschool info because thats the only school I attended. We all want to know why colleges ask for your social security numbers? Sam & Jessica think that is how the schools they applied to will find out about them going to the other schools also even though they didnt provide any info because they think the colleges will be able to do some type of background check & get that info? I think they only use the social security #s to identify u & not confuse u with someone else who might have the same name as u. They are scared & dont know what to do now. Sam thinks she will be fined or thrown into prison (lol) which might be possible. I am now scared for them & they didnt want to ask anyone on here (they both have accounts on here) they were kind of embarrased so they asked me to do it for them. We are all out of state students too by the way if that counts or matters. The only reason they didnt include the other transcripts is because their grades wernt as good as the homeschool grades because they do have some Fs on the regular high school transcripts & think that will mess their chances up.
