Chances of getting in? Econ major for school of liberal arts

<p>I have a:
3.1 gpa
1820 on SAT’s
Took 5 honors, and 2 AP classes in high school</p>

<p>Extra circulars:
President of my church handbell choir
Played guitar in jazz band
Member of the stock market club
Part time job as a waiter at a country club
Some community service</p>

<p>Pitt asked for my mid year grades. So far this year I have all A’s and B’s including two A’s in AP classes.</p>

<p>Even if you would get straight A’s your cumulative GPA would probably only increase to 3.3 or so at best, which is way below Pitt’s average. They rarely seem to accept anyone with a GPA below 3.5, unless you’re an athlete or have some other hook because they just have so many other outstanding applicants, especially this year.
