I left high school at the end of my sophmore year, so i started community college at the age of 16. Dont mistake this with middle college. I received an equivalent of a high school diploma by taking thw CHSPE.

By the age of 17 I completed a full year internship at NASA Aimes. I was part of the college soccer team for 3 years. I joined Pass the Torch, which is a tutoring program where I tutored students who needed help in english.

I am a business major with a 3.66 GPA. It will probably raise up to 3.72 by the time I have finished all my courses. An advisor read my personal statement and thought that I wrote a very strong personal statement showing my challenges as a 16 year old in college.

Considering all this do you think that I have a good chance of getting into UC Berkeley as a business major and into UCLA as a Business Econ major and a Econ major?

hey, i took the chspe too. your extracurrics are solid–involved with NASA pretty early on, longevity in athletics, and tutoring’s always a plus. seeing as how i’m not a biz/econ major, i can’t give you much insight on your chances but good luck to ya!

Cool NASA internship. Which program did you get into? I know that their application requires enrollment in a 4-year college/university for some of their programs.

ya i took the chspe also, and from what i heard from ucla reps, it doesn’t give you a leg up or anything…they don’t take age in to account. your gpa is below the median for ucla business econ and berkeley’s (haas) business school is so competitive that it rejects 4.0 students. im not trying to be negative but you should consider math/econ as your major… not nearly as competitive good luck :)

ecs for UCLA- not that relevant at all either.

GPA + completion of preqs+ overcoming adversity and family circumstances is what UCLA wants to see- being 16 i guess could fall into that category, i sort of wrote my essay on that but i was also poor and all that other garbage.

If you have a solid preq gpa and raise your gpa you might be 75% in at UCLA>

OP haha you spelled NASA “Ames” incorrectly. I can tell you either go to Foothill or De Anza because I too have obtained that NASA internship. Anyway, you made 2 threads so I still think you have no chance.
