Hello!

I just finished my sophomore year of high school at a distinguished public school in Maryland. Next year, I am transferring to an elite boarding school, Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts. I was ranked 8th weighted and 13th unweighted my freshman year at my current school. My unweighted GPA from freshman year was a 4.0 and my weighted GPA was a 5.39.I’ll update this after I get my final grades from this year. I’m anticipating a B final grade in precalculus so that will probably put down my GPA a bit, but not too much. However, the rest of my final grades are A’s.I took all Gifted&Talented courses freshman year, which is higher than honors courses. Sophomore year I took two AP courses and the rest G&T. I’m anticipating 5’s on the two AP exams, World History and Psychology. I am of hispanic/filipino descent. My extracurriculars include:
-president of GSA
-creator of Neuroscience Club
-varsity sprinter in track and field indoor and outdoor
-cross country
-Spanish Club
-Book Club
-Key Club

Accomplishments include:
-placed Bronze category in National Spanish Exam
-National Honor Society
-National Spanish Honor Society
-selected and attended GLSEN’s leadership Students of Color Conference

My summer activities for the past years:
2010 Summer: Center for Talented Youth at JHU, Civic Week from Northwestern University at Washington DC
2011 Summer:- Brown University Neuroscience in Health and Disease course
-intern at cadaver lab; dissected cadavers and made connections to Johns Hopkins University faculty and doctors

This summer of 2012, I’m going to University of Pittsburgh to attend the Cancer Institute academy as well as the Doris Duke academy for minorities and high achieving youth. I’m also planning to go intern again at the cadaver lab.

I think I can run track for Brown since I looked at the times of their 400 m female runners. My times are 58 to 60 seconds for the 400m and they have lots of 400m runners with similar times.

Do I have a chance at Brown?
