I just finished my sophomore year of highschool.
My freshman year gpa was a 3.99 unweighted and my sophomore gpa was 4.03 unweighted.

I got a 770 on the us history SAT II
Im also involved in:
cross country (varsity)
indoor track (varsity)
outdoor track (varsity)
german club
young republicans
science national honor society
national English honor society
*plan on getting into National Honor society

Also I volunteer at a hospital over the summer helping out with pre/post surgery patients
Also I won a national award for scoring above a certain score on a national high school german test.

Based off of my current stats, how are my chances of getting into Brown looking?

It’s impossible to tell really without SAT scores and junior year. Honors societies are okay, but you’re sort of normal at the moment. Work on a hook, something that’ll make you stand out. Show a passion for what you want to be. As a slightly personal comment (not meant to be offensive in any way), do note that Brown is among the most liberal if not THE most liberal of the ivies. Your opinions and views will be respected, but as a republican you’ll be in the minority at Brown. Expect to be debated pretty frequently. Just a thought :)

thanks for the responses. and I am very involved in my running which I think will be my hook. as a sophomore I ran a 4:46 mile and a 10:15 two mile, so if I can drop my times the next two years, I think that should make me stand out, especially if I become captain on my teams. Also, at my school, an A+ is equal to a 4.33, so that’s how I got above a 4, but im not sure if colleges would calculate that differently.
