I’ll try to break it down as simply as I can. I graduated high school with around a 3.5 gpa. I was in a bunch of honors classes, played sports all 4 years of high school and participated in various clubs. Due to lack of money, my parents and I decided it would be best for me to go to a community college and then transfer to a university.

Stupidly, at the time, I took the SAT’s and treated it as a joke. I only took the SAT’s so I would not have to take the placement test at my community college (and I did not think it would come back and haunt me when applying to other schools). I got a 1710, with a 650 in math, and a 510 in critical reading.

I am a chemistry major and I’m going to graduate my community college with around a 3.7 gpa. I have a variety of liberal arts classes that are very likely to transfer. I am currently a member of Phi Theta Kappa and President of the Chemistry Club (I really do love Chemistry). I am a member of other clubs on campus.

Two questions:

Should I lie and say I never took the SAT when applying to schools I really want to get into (Boston University, Northeastern, NYU; more of a long shot, and etc)? Or do they have some way of checking?

Also, plain and simple, what are my chances? I am Caucasian; as much as I hate saying that damn term.

Thanks everyone. It would mean a lot for an educated response.
