@Jackdawdreams The good: Solid ECs and GPA. Good volunteer profile. The bad: Nothing extraordinary about your ECs. A lot of Ivy applicants have founded organizations, are in leadership roles, and receive various honors. What makes you different? Unless you typed it in wrong, a 1310 SAT is only 90th percentile and most applicants are 97th percentile and above. You SAT is much lower than even the average applicant. Unless you are a legacy or have some other direct connection with Cornell, I think you will have a pretty tough hill to climb to get accepted. Sorry, just my opinion.
From a stats perspective you are a inline with other candidates. Neither at the top or bottom of they likely see. What will be critical for your acceptance chances is your essay. Dyson is the most competitive undergraduate business school to get into (7% acceptance rate), but it is also very fit based. Dyson’s admissions team really puts a tremendous emphasis on if you are a good “fit” for the program. Their expectation is that a Dyson student is not only of high caliber, but also of high potential to make a difference upon graduation. So take extra care in crafting an essay that speaks to why Dyson is right for you, and what unique interests &focus you can bring to Dyson. That will help minimize statistical differences between other candidates and put you into an even stronger position for acceptance. Either way, keep up the great work. You look to have a very bright future regardless of where you ultimately attend school.
