<p>What are these colleges looking for in general? (Volunteering vs. Sports vs. Clubs vs. languages, etc.)</p>

<p>The bottom line is that they are looking for everything.</p>

<p>Top grades. Top test scores. Top ECs.</p>

<p>Last year, my son got a 2300 SAT, and was in the top 5% of his class.</p>

<p>He didn’t get into either.</p>

<p>Not much in the way of ECs though.</p>
