Chances of getting into MIT (Help?)

Okay, so I’m going to be a freshman this school year, and my current course is listed as:

Geometry
AP Biology
AP English
U.S. History
Orchestra
French 4-H
And besides that regular classes like Gym, Health, and Elective (world of music)

I also volunteer on a regular basis, and try to join as many clubs as possible such as Science Olympiads (a national competition), and math club, and the debate team.
I am extremely interested in both meteorology and astronomy, so it would be extremely great if I was able to get into this college.
SO, what should I do to improve my chances?

-On a side note, I plan on joining the peace corps for around a year after I graduate from high school. Would this help or hurt my chance of being accepted into MIT, or any college in general?

Thanks.

lol ***… how are we supposed to chance you as a freshman in high school…

for all we know (as likely as it will be), you’d fail all those classes and drop out.

umm… just to let you know unless you are a master carpenter/farmer you aren’t getting into the peace corp. 94% of peace corp members have bachelors degrees or above and the other 6% have 10+ years of work expierence.

Dear freshman student,
Do not worry about colleges yet!!! I know all the books out there tell you to start planning before 8th grade, but DON’T listen! Just remember the basics: study hard, participate everywhere, try new activities.

All this pressure to get into a “Top” college is coming from everyone, including you. There’s no set requirement you’ll need to get in. Not a set # of APs, not a particular score. It’s all the stuff that isn’t on your list: how you turned your interests in astronomy and meterology into something real (a club, a charity, an invention, science research…). Get to know your teachers and enjoy HS.
