Chances of getting into Ohio State, UC Davis, or Georgia Tech?

I go to a notorious tough prep school in Ohio, and I have a 3.6 gpa (mostly B’s and B+). I scored a 30 on my ACT. I know my grades are a little low, but my school tells colleges about how tough it is. Any opinions are appreciated, thanks!

You should fine as an in state student at OSU. GT and UCD have higher score profiles and UCD uses the UC GPA calculator (find it online). You should improve your ACT to 33 or more to have a good chance as an OOS student for GT and UCD.

I would look on Naviance and see your chances of admittance from your school for your students with your profile. Talk to your GC if you don’t have access yet. You still have time to take the June 13 or Oct ACT if you are a rising senior and want to apply for EA.

S goes to a similar prep school and all applicants admitted with 30 ACT and 3.53 average GPA.

UC GPA calculator as an OOS applicant will only allow to you use AP/IB courses in your 10-11th grades for the extra honors points. Average UC GPA at UCD last year was 4.07 and ACT was 28. ACT looks good, here is the calculator for the UC GPA: http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Can you pay for OOS schools? UCD will cost $55K/year with little to no financial aid. Your GPA will not qualify you for Regents which is the only merit aid offerred at UCD. If you can afford the cost, what is your intended major? This will also have an effect on your chances.

No, I most likely cannot afford 55k a year. At OSU, I would get 50% off because my parents work there. I was hoping for financial aid at Georgia Tech or UCD. I want to be in the engineering programs at these schools.
