So, up until two days ago, I was 100% sure that I was going to the University of Maryland. I was accepted back in January to their business program and their scholars program. I fell in love with this school after visiting it once during the summer for an honors programs and this was only confirmed when I visited again in November. After getting my acceptance letter, I mapped out everything, from where my dorm would be, to where my classes would be, to the gym and the diner. Everything, But, my financial aid information came back and they gave me absolutely $0 in scholarships. I was sure they made a mistake because people who had lower stats than me were getting more money. The only response they gave me was that they were going through an economic hardship. I won’t even get into how I feel about that subject…
So, after many tears, I came to the conclusion that I have to find somewhere else to go to college. I’ve been accepted into many other schools, but I started looking at SUNY Cortland and thought that it might be a good fit for me. I know it’s already April but I might as well try to see if I can still get in, since they’re rolling admissions.
