Chances of Getting into the following schools with my current transcript.

Hi, I’m currently a junior in my high school and I exploring my options for college. Last year, I struggled with my Pre-Calculus class and my Spanish class and finished with 2 C’s. My current GPA is a 3.75. I run track and cross country all year round. I am an Eagle Scout and I as well as numerous academic and extracurricular awards. I have plenty of community service hours as well as experience with a summer job. I’m also in a science research program conducting my own original research in microbiology. This year I’m taking one IB HL class, one IB SL class, one AP class, and 1 honors class. What are my chances of getting into these schools with my current transcript?

I’m a rising senior

You’re looking at a tough path up ahead. Your GPA is a little low, but luckily, colleges look at 1st semester grades. If you can pull yourself into about a 3.8 GPA, I’d say you are in good shape.

-What are your standardized test scores? These schools may also want SAT Subject Test scores depending on what major you’re applying to.

-Your EC’s are very good (esp with the original research), but try to get some more EC’s in belt if you can

My only advice is to get your grades up this 1st semester and make sure your test scores are high enough so that these schools can consider you as a good candidate.

Hope this helps and good luck with applying!
