I have a question that have been in my mind the whole week which was will I be accepted to colleges if I get a “D” in Calculus AB. I have been getting mostly A’s - 27, some B’s - 16, a few C’s - 2 and 1 D (Calc AB). Attend Alhambra High School in CA .
Some of my friends have already gotten accepted to some CSU’s as early as November for Fullerton, and many for other privates, I haven’t gotten any yet. and CSULA never gave me a CIN # so can’t check, been calling them since December of 2011

I want to know what my chances are for:
UC’s
University of Santa Barbara - (likely, maybe, unlikely)
University of San Diego - (likely, maybe, unlikely)
University of Irvine - (likely, maybe, unlikely)
University of Riverside - (likely, maybe, unlikely)

CSU’s

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona - (likely, maybe, unlikely)

California State University, Los Angeles - (likely, maybe, unlikely)

California State University, Long Beach - (likely, maybe, unlikely)

California State University, Fullerton - (likely, maybe, unlikely)

I know my question is a long one, but I would really appreciate it. Some people have been saying that I shouldn’t worry, but I want a real answer from professionals at this forum

If you could perhaps give your weighted GPA from sophomore year and junior year that would definitely help. This is what I can get from what you gave.

UCSB - unlikely
UCSD - very unlikely
UCI - maybe ish
UCR - maybe
All CSU’s - likely

Again, GPA from 10-11 grade (or your classes and your grades in those classes) will help me (and others) chance you more accurately.

You should be in to most of the CSUs. But I don’t see it happening at UCI or UCSB. You’re pretty much in the same boat as me… similiar culm GPA. Improvements help though I believe. I had a 2.9 first and second sem of sophomore year, but it jumped to a 4.0 and 4.2 I took pretty much all AP/H classes possible… roughly the same SAT/ACT… cept I got a 1710 (r530 w560 m620) and a 26 ACT (w23 r23 s24 m32).

One major factor though: Do you have great to excellent extracurricular?

University of Santa Barbara - unlikely

University of San Diego - almost impossible. UCSD is very numbers-oriented.

University of Irvine - unlikely

University of Riverside - maybe

CSUs - likely

Um thank you for replying I think my extra curricular are decent to good

stong94, and STheart, hopefully I’m hoping I’ll get into the CSU’s, though
I’ll like it if I got into the UC’s as well. Though the chances are pretty low,
Iono if the CSU will look at the extracurricular activites though, I don’t remember
if there was a section for that on the CSUMENTOR site.
