Chances of getting into UNC Chapel Hill?

I’m an IB student and have absolutely no data on previous admitted students of IB and such so I’m not well-versed on the conversion of IB to american grade scale
I was wondering if anyone could give me a realistic approach of UNC at Chapel hill?

I have an A in my US history Class and an A in TOK (Theory of Knowledge)
Us his is the only non-ib class i take
Then I have:
HL Chem - 6
HL Spanish - 7
HL Business - 7
SL English - 6
SL History - 6
SL Math - 5 :frowning:

I do have a fair share of extracurriculars and such, not spectacular, but I do 1100 hours of community services every summer, I’ve done study abroad programs and worked for the united airlines CEO jeff smisek for a bit, but nothing that would shoot me above to the list (also play hockey)

Just wondering if anyone would have a good idea of my chances?

I have a 30 on my act.

UNC- Chapel Hill
Also any ideas for Univ of Michigan?
Any help would be appreciated!

Oh I am not an instate student as well

Those are nice IB scores. Are you an international applicant? Unfortunately, a 30 ACT score is not especially competitive for out-of-state admissions to UNC-CH. It is very difficult to get in, since they have a statutory requirement to admit at least 82% of each freshman class from within NC. I don’t know about Michigan; you might have a better shot there. I suggest re-taking the ACT and trying the SAT. Do you have a GPA adjusted for a 4.0 scale?

I agree with woozgzmama, a 30 ACT isn’t going to cut it for out-of-state at UNC. It might for UM. You’ll need a 33 or 34 for UNC. North Carolina has strict rules about how many OOS students can be admitted. I don’t know about Michigan. Definitely take the SAT, too. Good luck!
