I’m from the UK and will be applying for financial aid. Got 1430 SAT under new SAT. Predicted 3 A*s at A level so I assume that’s a 4.0 GPA. Impressive extra curriculars (e.g UK Youth Parliament, won national debate competitions, on England b debate team and coach debating, grade 6 piano, etc.)
Doing subject tests in Literature and maths ii. If I do really well in this (750-800) will my low SAT score still negatively impact me?
What are my chances in getting into Chicago, UPenn, Brown and NYU?
Chicago, UPenn and Brown are extremely competitive for US students and even more so for internationals. They are all need aware for internationals, meaning they consider ability to pay when admitting international applicants. NYU is less competitive for admission than the others, but are notorious for not giving sufficient financial aid.
I don’t know how your ECs will resonate with admissions counselors. Certainly it wouldn’t hurt to retake the SAT in the fall. What were the individual scores? You also might want to expand your list to include schools with strong debate teams that have less competitive admissions.
