Chances of me not being accepted to any college at all?

<p>I’m a bit scared that I’m applying to too many reach schools or I’m just too ambitious.
I have a 3.75 GPA.
ACT score=terrible=27. As you can see I don’t do well in tests.
National Honour Society.
DECA member and won area conferences.
Pianist- I’ve held a lot of concerts.
Art- I held exhibitions around the world.
Work Experience- Nurse, Piano Teacher
Volunteer-Community Church (graduating requirement)
I’m taking 2 AP classes.
I’m Canadian- International Student.</p>

<p>Applying to: Boston University, University of Brown, Duke University, Northeastern University, University of Chicago, University of Maine, and University of Vermont.</p>

<p>University of Brown? Do you mean Brown University? If you were American, I’d say you’d probably get into at least one if not 3-4 of them but since you’re from Canada that changes things.</p>

<p>You could get into… well… 2-3 on that list I’m sure… Just retake the ACT/SAT and if you do better then I’m sure you’ll get into most. </p>

<p>But get a financial safety. I’m an international myself and for me, the problem isn’t getting into the school but paying for it.</p>

<p>No Class Rank, I’m at a private christian high school right now, and my GPA doesn’t include 9th and 10th grade because I used to live in England. Yes my situation is sort of complicated.</p>

<p>You could apply to Canadian universities as safeties, if you have the marks (~92+ average and then you’ll get in for sure - it’s all based on marks). This is alot cheaper as well, and they are just as good as some of the universities on your list.</p>

<p>College of the Atlantic is in Maine, fits your stats (their average admitted GPA: 3.6, ACT: 24-30), and may be something you’ll like, given your interest in some of those other schools. However, there are only 335 students, and some people don’t like small colleges like that. Worth looking at, though.</p>

<p>Yes, even if some schools are safeties in the way that you will almost certainly be admitted, you need those that you can definitely pay for, too. Which can often be harder, and these will probably have to be Canadian for you.</p>

<p>I think my parents can afford all of those universities. I’m just scared that I won’t even be admitted. All I have is original essays, those standardized test scores might even sabotage my chances…</p>

<p>Original essays are very good. And your score isn’t bad, it just isn’t what’s generally needed for top schools. You can retake to score better, but there are also other good colleges that have a 27 in their range.</p>

<p>Haha as long as I’m accepted, my parents can afford it. They can’t wait to send me far far away.</p>

<p>Well, “good” is all relative. It depends what you’re looking for in a school. If you want to fill out your information and preferences in College Confidential’s “Supermatch College Search” ( [College</a> Search - College Confidential](<a href=“http://www.collegeconfidential.com/college_search/]College”>http://www.collegeconfidential.com/college_search/) ), and that may give you a list of schools that can help with your search. Take that list with a grain of salt, though. It’s a good starting point, but all those schools may not be matches.</p>
