I took the PSAT this past year (I’m a junior living in FL) and I got a 202. At first, I was discouraged because I know for a fact that it isn’t high enough for national merit, but I’ve learned that above 190 is good for the National Achievement Program. I think from browsing the threads I’m good enough to be a semifinalist, but I’d like to know if I have a good chance at Finalist status (I’m not sure because my GPA isn’t very high)
I take very rigorous courses (all of them have been IB or Pre-IB) and my grades have been an upward incline since my freshman year. I’m in a few extra curriculars (band, crochet club, tennis, and church events) and will have more than 100 community service hours by the end of this year. I’m 70 out of over 550 people in my class, my UW GPA is 3.05 and my W GPA is 4.32.
Do I have a good chance?
