Chances of Stanford Business School Right After Ucla BA

I'm currently a junior at Ucla (history major, heard good things about history majors goin for their mba's) and was wondering if ANYBODY gets into Stanford Business without post BA work experience, like right away, and if so, what do they do??? I have some business ideas that I thought about pursuing, while at college, do they like stuff like that?

Should I join the Business club at UCLA?

I did a little practice GMAT a while ago, should I start working on that a lot now?

I am going to be brutal, but here goes. Either your post is a joke or you are way too uninformed to be thinking about Stanford GSB straight out of college. The top b-schools do take some really stellar grads with no experience, but all the ones I've ever seen profiled did things like start their own businesses in high school or college while going to school or go and work in Asia for 2 years before graduating, etc.

Yes, you should undertake activities, and get work experience, and if you haven't started it's more than likely too late to ever consider Stanford GSB. Unless you do some really, really exceptional things from here on out. And by the way, that would probably apply to any of the top 10 schools.

Good luck. You are starting to ask the right questions. Keep asking them. And get very, very diligent about finding answers to them.

What do you study?

You may get into Stanford Business School if you have fundraising experiences. I know a girl who got in Harvard Business School without ANY working experiences. She persuaded major companies to donate large amounts of money to Red Cross and other major foundations.

Thanks iAppler and BedHead.

BedHead- it wasn't a joke and although like many people seeking MBA's Stanford is their one top applications, but they most likely won't go there. I actually don't plan on or count on going there at all, I was just curious. I just asked if ANYBODY went there w/o work experience and what did they do. And I wanted to see if what I was doing right now, was similar to what the kids were doing right now that got into Stanford business without work experience after their 4 year degrees. :)

My plan is to meet all the requirements/scores as closely as I can for Stanford, and apply to a little lower ranking B school.

Thats what I did for my BA education, I followed Haas requirements for a period, and then I applied all over CA under a different major and got in everywhere (including Cal).
