Chances of transferring to UC Berkeley for Economics Major

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew the chances of transferring to UC Berkeley from a four-year university? I am an incoming sophomore at Rutgers University double majoring in finance and economics, and I hope to become a junior transfer to the UC Berkeley economics department. From my understanding, the transfer acceptance rate is relatively high for students who complete two years at a California community college but not as high for students who transfer from a four-year school.

I am a student in the Honors College, I currently have a 4.0 GPA, I am involved in extracurriculars (Fed Challenge Team, Rutgers Economics Society, etc.), and I will have 74 credits completed by the end of my sophomore year. What are the chances I am accepted?

So out of 19,137 transfer applicants, 4551 were accepted.

93% (4232) of those accepted were from California Community Colleges. That means that only 319 students were accepted from non community college. Average GPA for an accepted economics transfer student was between a 3.82-4.0. I would say your chances are extremely slim since you’re not transferring from a community college in California.

L&S Econ you might have a chance but not for Haas. I think there is a unit cap for transfers from a 4 year university. If I’m not mistaken the cap is 70 units, but you should check it out with a faculty member.
