So I am only a sophomore, but I know what classes, extra circulars and grades I will likely get. I am just wondering what schools I can get into for pre med. I dont know what major I want to have, but I know that I want to go to medical school. I would also like any advice about extra circulars that I should do. What are my chances to get into Berkeley and UCLA

Seeing that there both public schools and your OOS, it’s more difficult for you to get in. Can you afford these schools? You will not get too much aid, and you will be expected to pay more than your in state public school. Also, are you like impatient? Quit bumping this post. Even at that, why are you bumping this post after three minutes? Calm down.

Actually, just the opposite. The UC’s are begging for OOS students to pay full fare.

That being said, it would be foolish to pay those rates when one could attend TOSU, save a ton of money, and have a leg up when applying to instate med schools. Or spend a lot of money and go to Michigan, and have a bonus on the app to Michigan med.

Berkeley and UCLA admission standards are significantly higher than the level where in-state or out-of-state matters (minimum 3.0 GPA in-state or 3.4 GPA out-of-state for baseline UC eligibility), so the effect on admissions is likely neutral.

However, it certainly matters in terms of cost. UC financial aid will not cover the approximately $23,000 per year additional out-of-state tuition.

With so many great UGs and 7 Med. Schools in great state of OH, why in a world to aim at CA?
Many top HS kids in OH with higher stats just stay in OH and take advantage of all opportunities at both UGs (many go for free because of full tuition Merit awards) and Med. Schools with one of the hieghest number of combined bs/md programs (as one of the options). And, in addition, do you know how many California kids are at thd OH Med. Schools? Did you check it at all? Very, very many, despite of the difficulties driving in a snow…
