hi all! im an international! and i gt 33 for act! i took the gce a levels also and i got 6As and 1 Bs… what are my chances of getting in umich, or ross for that matter???

the information u provided is not enough. what classes did u take? what are your extracurriculars? etc etc

GCE A levels are the most rigorous classes in the UK, right? If so, taking that with your 33 ACT makes you look like a strong candidate. That being said, mediabob is right. It’s hard to tell without some further information.

thanks for ur speedy reply guys…
i was in the string ensemble when i was 17, and i played the violin! erhmm our ensemble won gold with honors(the highest award) in the national judging…
i was also in the dance club and took part in their annual performance
during high school i also won 3rd placing in national go competitions (chess) when i was 13 and 14
i also won 1st and 2nd in national website design competition when i was 15 and 16 too.
other than that i was in the council when i was 15 and was also awarded the outstanding student award when i graduated from high school…
hmm apart from that i am also a semi-qualified broker (without a license that is, cos im not 21 yet), i passed my country’s equivalent of the series 7 too. so i guess thats abt it.

seems like you’re very qualified for umich. I think you’re in if you arent asking for aid :)

woo thanks man.but i gt 1 more question!

if we have been educated in english all our lives, do we count as native english speakers???

cos umich’s website said that international students need to take toelf or some kinda test called melab to certify that we are proficient in english…

^If you do take the test, if you’ve studied English your whole life you should know English well enough to pass.

aww… you know how things are. im just like so darn lazy to take the test. which is why i took act in lieu of sat in the first place… sigh

You don’t have to take the TOFEL because you are a native english speaker. IDK about the “melab” but I guess your ACT might work, call the admissions office, or email them
