I am going to major in Computer Science

Do I have a chance of getting in to Cornell?
[if I get my SAT score to a 2000, maybe?]

Working on improving your SAT score is important, but don’t forget that extracurriculars are also a very important part of any college application. From the looks of it, your EC’s, though limited, gravitate around science—a definite plus because you’re seeking to major in computer science. I would recommend trying out the ACT. Many people have told me that the ACT is, for them, the easier test. Community service is far more rewarding and easier to do when you enjoy it, so try finding a volunteer position that interests you. Also try to emphasize your passion for computer science in the application essay and interview. You may not be the strongest applicant the admissions officers at Cornell see, but remember that numbers only go so far in describing an applicant. For the admissions statistics of Cornell, I would visit College Board’s site ([College Search - Cornell University - Deadlines](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board)), where they provide Cornell’s (and any college’s) recommended high school credits, average incoming freshmen test scores, and other information that might help you gauge where you fall on the range of applicants. I hope this helps!

im in relatively the same position as you op,
my sat score is 1870 on my first try
math - 690
writing and reading - 590
my weighted gpa has always been above 4.0
unweighted i believe is 3.8 or 3.9
and stupidly, im not involved in many extracurriculars at all in 10th and 11th grade… but im 9th grade i was crazy, i was in like 10 clubs because the school i went to provided many good ones, but the school im in now for 10th and 11th grade SUCKS honestly with the ecs… so how good would my chances be to get into cornell?? i wanna go into premed for SURE im crazy about medicine…
